I have lived in Hudson since I was 2 years old--almost 40 years. The charm of downtown Hudson, the friendly community, great schools, and the proximity to Cleveland and Akron brought my parents to Hudson. These wonderful qualities still exist here today. I attended Hudson schools from kindergarten through high school. After graduating from Grove City College with a degree in mechanical engineering, I started my career with BP Oil in Cleveland. Over the next 12 years, I married Dave, worked and lived in Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Kernersville, North Carolina, and started a family. After our first two children arrived, in 2002, Dave and I moved back to Hudson to be near family and to enjoy the special city that brought my parents here so many years ago.
I am a licensed professional engineer with over 30-years of experience managing multi-million-dollar, multi-year projects. I am experienced with balancing large-scale financial resources and time management with tasks needed to accomplish goals; city council representatives are expected to do the same. They are responsible for reviewing and approving Hudson's annual budget. In my personal career, I consistently deliver results, under budget and ahead of schedule, and will use these skills as a member of city council to ensure financial accountability and transparency.
I recognize that this position takes time and I am ready to invest in the future of our city. I relocated back to Hudson in 2002 because I love our city and the small-town character. I plan to remain here and stay involved with our community. As your city council representative, I will listen to you, the residents of Hudson, and use my skills and experience to translate your concerns and ideas into progress.
